BALSTOCK 2021 CHARITY NEWS
Hey all. Many thanks for all the charity suggestions earlier in the year. The Balstock Committee had a long discussion about how to go forward with this year’s chosen cause. Because of the limited and abridged nature of this year’s festival we cannot foresee raising the kind of money that we have in Balstock’s past events (although we’d love you to prove us wrong!) so we are just raising for ONE LOCAL CHARITY.
THE SOLE CHARITY FOR BALSTOCK 2021 WILL BE THE BALDOCK ‘BBF’ HARDSHIP FUND
Here’s a little info: The Independent Baldock Beer Festival Charitable Trust (reg in England 1163540) “BBF” Hardship Fund
The BBF raises funds via the Baldock Beer Festival, The Baldock Oktoberfest, one off events and individual donations. The Trustees donate surplus funds in a variety of ways in accordance with their Governing Document: each year the Trustees nominate one or two recognised national charities e.g. Cancer Research UK, Macmillan, Mind etc and make donations in support of their work in North Herts. The BBF also donates to a wide variety of small charities/not for profit good causes in and around Baldock e.g. Feed Up Warm Up, Foodbank, children’s groups etc. Lastly, the BBF also maintains a ring- fenced Hardship Fund. The Fund was set up to support; individuals in our Community who are in need, perhaps through ill health or circumstances beyond their control and small underfunded, poorly supported groups who may not have their voice heard. Members of the public making a donation to the BBF can request that their donation is specifically allocated to the Hardship Fund. Requests for support are generally made by third parties in the Community e.g. School teachers, volunteers, carers. All requests are considered by the Trustees on a confidential basis and whilst details of group recipients are recorded, individual recipients are not, to protect their identities.
We hope you’ll all help us raise an impressive amount at Balstock 2021 (10th, 11th & 12th Sept) towards this awesome cause and in turn help out individuals and organisations who have been hit the hardest by the recent pandemic.
Band applications are still open BUT NOT FOR LONG!!!!
And just a separate THANK YOU to London Road Studios for donating £150 towards Balstock Music Festival for the running of the event.
Keep On Hailing!!!
